Does Increased Use of Contraception Lead to Fewer Abortions?

If you heard this once, you heard it a million times. If only we all increased use of contraception, then we would see the number of abortions decrease.

Does such an argument hold up under scrutiny?

Let us turn to a papal encyclical, written by Pope Saint John Paul II, for some clarity. After all, no one else more famously opposes contraception and abortion as the Catholic Church.

ABC’s “Scandal” Not the First Occurrence of Abortion on Television

The curmudgeon, Dr. Gregory House of House, M.D. once talked one of his patients into an abortion in this wildly popular show.

In 2007 this was the 12th episode in the show’s third season. It was titled, “One Day, One Room.”

The patient this time was a religious, young woman named Eve. She has contracted a sexually transmitted disease after being raped. After House reluctantly agrees to treat her, he learns she is pregnant.

Then Pope Saint John Paul II ties it all up and directs us back to governmental intrusions, like the two child policy in China.

“Thus the Church condemns as a grave offense against human dignity and justice all those activities of governments or other public authorities which attempt to limit in any way the freedom of couples in deciding about children.”

Why the Mass Media Got So Much Mileage Out of Bruce Jenner Changing Gender Allegedly

It seems no matter where you turn, Bruce Jenner changing gender supposedly keeps popping up in the news. Media outlets continue to print and air his botoxed mug shot to garner ratings.

I have a theory as to why they bludgeoned us with JennerMania for months on end. At the end of this article, please leave me a comment whether you think I am onto something.

Could the Catholic Church Someday Declare Abortion Morally Permissible?

Could the Catholic Church Someday Declare Abortion Morally Permissible?

Is it possible for the Catholic Church to declare abortion morally acceptable someday?

The Church, as it is, seems out of step with so much of the rest of the world. Does the appeal of “getting with the times” attract the Church’s hierarchy?

After all, the Catholic Church remains the most steadfast, ardent defender of life known to the Western world. It is unpopular for its hardline stance against the murder of the unborn.

Could the pope or the bishops decide one day to reverse Church teaching?

6 Reasons to Pity Doctors that Perform Abortions

Those entering medical school likely have high hopes of performing masterful surgeries. They have the expectation they will bring healing to their patients. They look forward to the challenge each day brings on the job.

Not much of that holds true for an abortion doctor. For the most part, his workday is just like the last 100 before them. He does the same baby-killing procedure over and over again.

In fact, he is not really practicing medicine at all.

4 Things I Would Say to the 113 Women Suing a Contraceptive Manufacturer After They Became Pregnant

In God’s providence He blessed you with the gift of a child, despite your intention to prevent that from happening.

Now, He is the supreme authority, so who are you to question His decisions?

He also crafted you in your mother’s womb (Isaiah 44:2, Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 139:13). He knows you better than anyone. He knows what you need and what will bring you the most happiness.

NARAL Founder: Abortion Mortality Rate Greatly Exaggerated in the Push for the Legalization of Abortion

“I confess that I knew the figures were totally false, and I supposed the others did too if they stopped to think of it.

“But in the ‘morality’ of our revolution, it was a useful figure, widely accepted, so why go out of our way to correct it with honest statistics?

How Not to Fall for Sins of Impurity

As we can see, the invitations toward sins of impurity (as well as other sins) come from a place within us. Sure, the devil entices us, as he likes to do. But, sadly, there is a part of us attracted to what he lays before us.
