Just who carries the burden of being morally responsible for the abortion holocaust?
Over 3,000 babies are dismembered in their mothers’ wombs in this country alone on an average day.
Who bears the burden of permitting this abortion holocaust to take place?
Do We Blame the Mothers for the Abortion Holocaust?
It would be easy to blame the mothers procuring the abortions. After all, if they did not request the service, then it would not be such a lucrative industry. Where there is no demand, no one sells.
However, most mothers who obtain an abortion will pass off responsibility. They will often claim they did not want to get the abortion. However, they felt they had no other choice, given the lack of support in their lives.
Perhaps the post-abortive mother blames her boyfriend or husband for making her do it. He may have threatened to walk out on her if she birthed his baby.
Or she may blame her parents or friends for not providing her and her baby an adequate living arrangement, if she gave birth.
More often than not, mothers who go through with an abortion often take a passive position on the matter. They feel vulnerable and so others decide for them what they deem best.
Or, occasionally an emboldened pregnant mother may be exercising her legal “right” to abort. After all, Roe v. Wade is the law of the land. She can legally have her own baby killed, if she chooses, so who are you to question her?
If the law were not there, she wouldn’t be doing it, she may claim.
Do We Blame the Abortionists for this Abortion Holocaust?
The ones who actually do the murdering of the unborn children are the abortionists. These “doctors,” though, by and large, see themselves as offering a “necessary” service to women and to society.
They may be helping curb population growth, n their minds at least. They may see themselves as easing the socioeconomic strain of mothers with unplanned pregnancies. The abortionists may even see themselves as “martyrs,” bearing the burden of guilt, so the women can move on with their lives.
Often though, abortionists justify their work as a service to women that the law and society have deemed legal and necessary. Someone has to do it. It may as well be them.
The abortionists, thus, pass off personal responsibility. Instead, they lay it at the feet of society at large.
Do We Blame the Abortion Holocaust on Lawmakers?
The court case Roe v. Wade legalized abortion in the USA in 1973. Since then over 55 million babies have been slaughtered through legal abortion in the USA alone.
Are we to chalk this up to the misstep of the Supreme Court that permitted this brutality? Can we deem Congressmen culpable for not passing a Constitutional amendment protecting unborn children for all these years?
Is the answer simply that morality of this nation depends solely upon the laws crafted by its politicians?
Do We Blame Society as a Whole for the Abortion Holocaust?
Are we all to blame?
After all, the common refrain you will hear in the pop culture is that the decision whether to abort should be left up to the mother and her physician.
Mind you, these are the same people that say the abortion is sanctioned by society, making it morally permissible.
Just who, then, bears the moral responsibility for the 55 million babies dead by the abortion holocaust?
It appears the burden gets passed about like a hot potato.
