“How well can you describe the different procedures of abortion?”
This remains a question you can pose to your so-called “pro-choice” friends, family, and acquaintances, whenever the topic of abortion arises.
As well, this is a topic pro-lifers would do well to brush up on to sharpen their knowledge.
LIVE ACTION’S VIDEOS
Thankfully, Live Action has done the heavy lifting for each of us. They have released an informative video series describing several of the different procedures of abortion.
They rely on someone who certainly would know all about performing abortions. Dr. Anthony Levatino, an OB and former abortionist describes them in these videos. Dr. Levatino says he performed over 1,200 abortions before ending his ways.
The videos are posted at AbortionProcedures.com.
If you go there now, you will find a short video for each of the abortion procedures, the D&E (Dilation & Evacuation), aspiration, abortion-inducing pills, and induction.
TAKE THE D&E ABORTION, FOR INSTANCE
Dr. Levatino explains in the video on this procedure that these abortions are performed on babies 13 to 24 weeks along in pregnancy. He goes on to describe the procedure.
After the pregnant mother is sedated, the mother’s vagina is opened wider using a weighted speculum. The abortionist removes the previously-inserted laminaria and may use a dilator (metal rod) to open the vaginal opening further.
The vagina needs to be forcibly opened in order to facilitate the murder of the unborn baby, since the child is at least seven inches long at 20 weeks for instance, not counting her legs.
A suction catheter attached to a loud vacuum is inserted into the mother’s vagina to suck out the amniotic fluid. As the former abortionist explains, at this age, the baby’s bones are too strong to be broken by the suction machine.
> “The abortionist knows he has crushed the skull when a white substance comes out of the cervix: this was the baby’s brains,”
Thus, the abortionist then grabs a sopher clamp to finish the job. The clamp is about 13 inches long and has teeth on its end to form a solid grip, as Dr. Levatino demonstrates in the video.
The sopher clamp is shoved into the uterus of the pregnant mother and her baby’s limbs are torn off one-by-one. The child’s intestines, heart and lungs are also extracted using the sopher clamp. The abortion doctor then crushes the baby’s skull, which is about the size of a large plumb, he says.
“The abortionist knows he has crushed the skull when a white substance comes out of the cervix: this was the baby’s brains,” Dr. Levatino explains.
Tthe so-called “doctor” removes the various pieces of the child’s skull and anything else he can grasp, including the placenta. Dr. Levatino says the next step for the abortionist is to use a curette to scrape the inside wall of the uterus to ensure all the baby’s parts are removed.
The former-abortionist-turned-pro-life-advocate says the final step is important: he or a nurse reassemble the baby on a tray. They want to be sure they successfully removed two arms, two legs, the head, and all the baby’s body parts. If any body parts are left inside, the patient risks infection and other serious health risks.
Dr. Levatino does not end the video before describing some major health complications mothers face after having a D&E abortion done. He lists them as follows: uterine perforation, cervical laceration, bowel injury, infection, hemorrhage, future pregnancy complications, and even maternal death.
After reading that description, I don’t know how anyone can claim to support abortion “rights.” No one should have the “right” to have another person dismembered, let alone one’s own child. God, have mercy.
DR. LEVATINO SHARES HIS CONVERSION
Lila Rose, the President of Live Action, interviewed Dr. Levatino, asking him to share his conversion story. Dr. Levatino, in the video, goes on to describe what ultimately caused him to give up his abortion business. Within the interview he describes a heart-wrenching event in his personal life that caused him to re-evalute the direction he was taking his medical practice and his moral life.
