Make no mistake, the Sexual Revolution did not set women free. Rather, it enslaved women.
This is the conclusion of my three-part series on how the Sexual Revolution adversely affected children, men, and women.
To the radical feminists, my statement above is inflammatory, no doubt. They think they have reached a pinnacle of women’s freedom unsurpassed in human history. So my assessment contradicts their perceived victories.
But hear me out, as I lay out 11 reasons the Sexual Revolution of the 1960’s enslaved women, rather than liberated them.
1. Women Bought the Lie Their Biology Held Them Back
When it comes down to it, the feminist movement took a turn for the worst when it rejected feminine biology. Radical women convinced themselves their bodies were holding them back.
Being born with the reproductive parts to gestate a baby implied a duty to care for children and to manage a household. This could no longer be tolerated. This was restrictive and thus, needed to be rejected.
2. Women Thought Difference from Men Equaled Inequality
A funny thing occurs in the liberal mindset. They are eager to be divisive. Any difference between any two groups of people equates to an inequality.
This is true especially when viewing the ‘battle of the sexes,’ as it has been coined. Men and women are born with different reproductive organs, among other differences.
Again, to them, difference equates to inequality. Women could have chosen to see their body parts as superior because they imply a God-given ability to love others. Instead, they chose to play the victim of the biological roulette wheel.
3. Women Bought the Lie Work Would Fulfill Them
Are women to be home, making babies and caring for their families? This was an outdated paradigm meant to enslave women, the claim became.
Rather, women were being prevented from joining the workforce, earning big money, and buying for themselves expensive merchandise. Or so the thought process went.
Here we are over fifty years later, and career-oriented women report often feeling unfulfilled in the workforce.
4. Women Seized a Sexual License
The advantage of being a man, in radical feminists’ eyes, included being devoid of the consequences of sex.
Men can sleep around and skirt assuming responsibility of any resulting children. This was cause for envy among the radical feminists. They sought such perceived freedom for themselves.
5. Women Bought Contraception, and Paid with Their Health
Thus, women embraced contraception with open arms.
The products claim to grant sexual freedom and expression. But no one bothers to read the fine print.
For, the Birth Control Pill and the subsequent patches, IUDs, and so forth come with enormous health risks.
Women were taught they ought to give themselves away, without a commitment to marriage. Somehow, this was supposed to fulfill them.
Instead, it has left them with wakes of shattered relationships and broken hearts.
As well, women have been burdened with the brunt of the physical damage of the promiscuous lifestyle. Thanks to birth control, women experience strokes, heart attacks, breast cancer, other cancers, and a whole host of other health problems.
Again, mind you, this is supposedly worth the cost for cheap sex.
6. Women Rejected Motherhood as a Good
The radical feminists bought into the push to reject motherhood as a good.
Family life was to be reviled. Women were meant to define for themselves their happiness. And any inclination they felt to bear and care for children was to be denigrated.
This flies in the face of their nature as women, no matter what lies they tell themselves.
7. Women Were Taught to Despise Children
Such a warped mindset overflowed across society as a whole. When so many individuals sought to avoid bearing children, children as a whole became less valuable. For radical feminists, the youth became despised.
Sex and marriage went from child-centric to adult-centric. Children have become commodities for the gratification of adults.
8. Womanhood Came to be Redefined from Practicing Virtue to Looking Like a Supermodel
One of the hidden goals of the feminist movement was to help the unattractive women attain success in the workforce. All women were equal now, and so-called women’s rights were supposed to be thanked.
Ironically, though, just the opposite effect took place.
When women rebranded themselves as objects in the cog, they sold themselves short.
Physical attraction became a barometer or predictor of success in the labor force.
9. Women Became Increasingly Victimized by Our Pornographic Culture
Similarly, the push to liberate women from their bodies actually made things worse for women: the perspective on them changed.
When virtually every woman wants to discuss her body, for better or for worse, then everyone is going to eventually focus on it too.
In turn, women’s bodies became objectified, thanks to the Sexual Revolution. Talk about something that enslaved women. Here you go.
Women were now mere sex objects for men’s viewing pleasure.
No wonder the porn industry grew to a multi-billion dollar industry. Strip clubs went from inhabiting a corner in a shady part of town to marketing themselves brazenly on billboards on major thoroughfares.
Sex trafficking, as well, remains a horrific crime that must be eradicated. No doubt, those who can kidnap women, rape them, sell them as property, and so forth have black hearts. Hearts that were turned cold by porn, unquestionably.
In short, the porn market and all its cohorts exploit women. But its prevalence is a logical outcome to the Sexual Revolution’s false claims.
10. Young Girls Nowadays Have Few, If Any, Models of True Femininity
Just who exhibits true femininity anymore? What role models do young girls (and boys) have of a true woman?
Pop culture parades around the likes of Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, and so forth. Impressionable girls watch such filth and think that’s the ideal. God, help them.
By having no models of true femininity, young girls are victimized by having the cycle perpetuated. Thus, the Sexual Revolution ensured several generations of enslaved women.
11. Nowadays, Being a Girl Has Little Significance Anymore
And the irony of all ironies is that the Sexual Revolution has led to the rejection of womanhood entirely.
What was supposed to set women free and embolden women, has led to their demise.
What do I mean?
The Sexual Revolution says sexual satisfaction is the only criteria for licit sexual activity. So long as the sexual act feels good, you can do the act with whomever you so choose.
The Sexual Revolution does not care if the participants are married or not. They need only seek to please each other between the sheets and that makes it okay.
Given that, sexual participants need not be each a male and female. And it makes no difference how many people have sex together. It is all about feelings, don’t you know.
Thus, society is in the midst of making the (il)logic leap to there being no real significance to being born female, or male.
You don’t even have to be a girl to be a Girl Scout anymore!
What madness.
YOUR TURN
I imagine I left out some example of the Sexual Revolution enslaved women. Can you name anymore?
