You! Yes, you. You are invited to go pray outside your local abortion center this Saturday.
You would be hard-pressed to come up with else to do that would be as eternally impactful.
After all, your prayerful presence outside your local abortion mill could prove the difference between a baby living and dying.
Your golf game or your aerobics class can wait, don’t you think?
ANTICIPATING YOUR OBJECTIONS
“C’mon, I had plans,” you may be objecting.
Yes, you likely did plan out your Saturday morning already.
Now let me ask you this. What would you be willing to give up, so that a baby might live?
Would you delay your grocery shopping trip by an hour or two, if it meant a child who was scheduled to die would instead live?
Think you can go out of your way to show up to the abortion center? Do you not have faith the prayers you offer up for those going inside—the babies, their mothers, the escorts, and the clinic workers—would make a difference?
“But I can just pray here, where I am. I don’t need to go there.”
This too is a common objection that you may hold to as well.
You are correct that your petitions miles away from your local abortion center can have a big impact. No one disputes this.
That said, think of the extra weight your prayers would hold when made in front of the abortion center.
You would be showing God the seriousness of your petition to Him. You would be sacrificing whatever else you would doing to Him in return for Him hearing your prayers.
Your presence could cause a patron to the abortion center to just drive right on by without going inside. You would be serving as a public witness in opposition to the holocaust occurring at that death mill.
40 DAYS FOR LIFE
If just so happens that the semiannual 40 Days for Life campaign is going on worldwide. You can check here to see if a prayer vigil is underway at your local abortion center. If so, you can join the effort and meet some wonderful people.
The 40 Days For Life campaign is centered on three core concepts. First, it has a prayer vigil outside a local abortion center or abortion referral center. Many of which are held outside Planned Parenthood facilities.
Second, the organizers ask for each participant to pray AND to fast. These are the weapons by which the disciples of Jesus Christ can wage the ongoing spiritual battle.
And third, community outreach remains vital. The campaign organizers try to equip its participants to engage their local people. Efforts include raising awareness about the tragedy of abortion.
As well, the campaign attempts to let each local community know they have a baby-butchering shop in their backyard. You would be surprised how many people claim they had no idea.
Just show up. Get involved. What are you waiting for?
You can no longer say you were never invited!
