When you think of the Sexual Revolution of the 1960’s, do you think of men as victims?
I doubt it. But I want you to consider what follows. I will lay out why it would be appropriate to label men as victims of the Sexual Revolution.
Of course, this is another installment of my series on the Sexual Revolution, and how it has victimized children, men, and women (coming soon).
We are still feeling the ramifications of the Sexual Revolution brought about during the hippy ‘60s.
Here are four reasons you can brand men as victims of the Sexual Revolution, too
1. MEN ARE LABELED THE ENEMY
One of the clearest fallouts of the Sexual Revolution to illustrate is the tension created between the sexes.
Women supposedly became fed up with biology holding them back. They sought to become more like men.
Men were strong. Men could have sex, with seemingly no consequence (aka, children). Men were not forced to stay home with their children.
Meanwhile, women bought into the lies they were merely weak beings. They were slaves to their households. They were slaves to the natural order.
Men, seemingly had it all. They were to be envied. Men were to be despised. Men were to be labeled what they truly were: the enemy.
Men held women back. Men wouldn’t let women into the workforce, much less advance past the glass ceiling. Men were the problem with the world.
And ironically, in order to correct that faux problem, women sought to be emulate men. A great multitude of women have bought the lie that to be great women, they need to become men.
Forget a woman’s call to motherhood. A revolution was underway, and men needed to be made to look weak. Women needed to be made to look strong, independent, and so forth.
The mass media collaborated and spun out sitcoms, magazine articles, so-called studies, inundating the culture with this distorted worldview.
Neither side has raised the white flag ever since, in the battle of the sexes.
Thanks to the New World Order, women seek to have sex without the attachment of married life. Women would now settle for whomever. Getting a woman to bed became too easy.
2. LOWERING OF VIRTUE
In the olden days, in order to satisfy his carnal desires, a man first had to get married.
No decent girl was going to give herself to him, without him first making a commitment to her for lifelong fidelity.
If he wanted to get married, then he needed to woo a woman. This meant he had to clean himself up to look presentable. He had to impress the lady’s parents. He needed a way to provide for her well-being, should they marry. This meant he had to work hard and to save.
In other words, men used to be required to practice virtue.
Not anymore, thanks to the Sexual Revolution.
Thanks to the New World Order, women seek to have sex without the attachment of married life. Women would now settle for whomever. Getting a woman to bed became too easy.
As a result, the need to practice virtue took a nosedive.
Some may think this set men free. It made life easier. But not so, not in the long run, actually.
For practicing vice, like promiscuity, cohabitation, divorce, contraception, and so forth, leads to enslavement to sin. This leads to a general unhappiness for everyone involved, and weakens society as a whole.
How can I label men as victims of all this? Because men have a God-given desire to sacrifice themselves. They want to accept a challenge, and rise to the occasion.
Thanks to our pornographic culture, where women give themselves away so freely, men today do not answer that innate calling. They may hear it ringing down deep inside. But they ignore it.
The pretend the porn and the one-night stands will satisfy. But they never do. Thus, they seek out more of them.
3. WHERE ARE ALL THE GOOD WOMEN AT?
The Sexual Revolution has victimized good, moral, upstanding men.
I know, I know, it’s hard to believe sometimes. But some men successfully navigated the moral sewer of our society.
There are a few good men left standing. But sometimes they are left without a dance partner.
Thanks to the Sexual Revolution, finding a faith-filled girl can prove a challenge. Many good folks turn to CatholicMatch.com or other matchmaking sites, because wholesome singles at their local parishes at few and far between.
4. YOUNG MEN HAVE VERY FEW ROLE MODELS
Is anyone worth emulating anymore?
What examples are boys (and girls) given of femininity?
The Sexual Revolution teaches the youth that a good, successful woman is one who sleeps around.
Chastity, fidelity, gracefulness, these virtues used to mean something. But now the youth have very few role models to watch practice these.
In their place, the Sexual Revolution has led to children viewing sophomoric porn on MTV when they get home from school. They are instructed in school to use contraception, with the expectation to be promiscuous.
The Sexual Revolution effeminized the men. What boy ever learns what true manhood is?
Who is instilling our boys an appreciation for self-sacrifice? Who is teaching them the honor in keeping their word?
Such men are no longer valued by the pop culture, thanks to the Sexual Revolution. Men like Tim Tebow are made to look foolish.
What hope do kids have of breaking out of this cultural, rotten rut?
YOUR TURN
Sorry to end on a downer, but it’s a sad state of affairs, don’t you think?
Can you think of a fifth example of why we can view men as victims of the Sexual Revlution?
