I hereby dare to offer proof that the Big Bang Theory is false.
This might stir up some anger for pointing out the obvious. So be it.
The Big Bang Theory seeks to explain the origins of our universe. The theory—and that is all it is—claims everything in existence in the entire universe was once condensed into a small cluster of matter, time and space. Then after a “big bang,” these particles exploded and slowly expanded over the course of billions of years to give us the universe we observe today. Along the way, life itself, and even intelligent lifeforms somehow “evolved” out of this process to supposedly explain our existence today.
Although its problems are numerous, I will offer just three flaws as proof that the Big Bang Theory is false.
1. NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHERE THE ELEMENTS IN THE BIG BANG CAME FROM?
Those who offer defense of the Big Bang Theory are caught in a dilemma. They claim everything in our universe came from this tightly-wound ball of elements and energy that exploded eons ago. But if that is true, then where did those elements and energy come from? A material explanation has no answer.
If they admit some sort of force put them there (and caused the Big Bang itself), then they are admitting there is a greater force than nature itself. Many believers in God hold to this view, but still many atheists do not. Either way, it remains a big hole in the logic of the Big Bang Theory.
2. NOTHING CAN COME FROM NOTHING
For those who deny God’s existence but still hold to the Big Bang Theory, they are left with a huge hole in their reasoning. For anything to come into existence, it first needs a cause. Yet, according to those who have self-imposed their knowledge to only that which can be empirically proven, there is no materialist explanation as to why or how there exists anything at all in the first place.
This is also an application of the first law of thermodynamics. This law states matter cannot be created nor destroyed, only converted from one form to another. And yet, the Big Bang Theory attests something—errr, really everything—was created from nothing.
St. Thomas Aquinas explained it this way: “…if at one time nothing was in existence it would have been impossible for anything to have begun to exist; and thus even now nothing would be in existence—which is absurd” (ST, I, Q. 2, art. 3). Absurd indeed.
3. THE BIG BANG THEORY VIOLATES THE SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS
Whoops. The supposed “scientific” explanation for the origin of the universe violates one of the basic laws of nature. The second law of thermodynamics, known as entropy, says that matter tends to move from order to disorder.
Think of an automobile. Now think of it being blown up. Does the matter that once comprised the vehicle in an ordered fashion remain ordered after the explosion? Hardly! The various quickly become disordered, as parts fly in every direction.
And yet, for the Big Bang Theory to be true, an explosion—or even a series of explosions—are supposed to explain the order we see in our universe. The Big Bang Theory needs for just the opposite of entropy to occur. It just does not hold.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Why devote a post on a pro-life blog to the problems of Big Bang Cosmological Model? Well, adherence to this theory has tremendous impact on the practical day-to-day living—and-dying—of our society today. If we are nothing more than the result of a meaningless and random explosion, then our lives carry no inherent value. Those weaker than others have no choice but to submit or to be killed by those stronger.
But if we are made on purpose by a God who loves us and wishes to know us, then not only do we enjoy basic human rights, but also our lives have intrinsic value. The protection and preservation of human life becomes the duty of all mankind. Sadly, our culture has embraced the former view of life at the rejection of the latter.
Our culture operates on a false understanding of our origins. If we don’t know where we came from, then how will we know where we are heading?
