This is a follow up to a previous post where I listed common side effects to abortion for the woman.
Since the list of possible side effects to abortion is substantial, I thought it would be good to identify some more. Hopefully, by reviewing this information, the facts will continue to get out.
Just as that first post was not a full list, this subsequent post will not attempt to exhaust all the side effects to abortion either.
With no further ado, here are seven more side effects to abortion.
1. DEPRESSION
Depression and the promiscuous lifestyle go hand in hand. How can they not? It only makes sense.
Both men and women are searching for love. Since sex is naturally an expression of love, they think they will find love anytime they have sex.
When the promiscuous lifestyle does not fulfill them as they think it should, disappointment sets in. Depression can follow, as well.
People are conditioned these days to think sex equals love. So they engage in promiscuous sex, but it does not satisfy. It is a counterfeit.
Promiscuity was supposed to be satisfying, but isn’t it leaves people empty, with broken relationships, and possibly dead babies too.
2. SUICIDE
Being post-abortive increases the likely of becoming suicidal. For some post-abortive mothers, life seems unbearable, given what they did.
3. A SENSE OF LOSS
For years following the abortion, post-abortive parents may look in the backseat of their car, imagining a car seat there. What could have been.
They may experience jealousy toward mothers with living children. Post-abortive mothers have been known to resent children, as well. They may avoid parks or family restaurants, where children are known to be found.
A few post-abortive women may offer to be surrogate mothers for other couples seeking in vitro fertilization. They may think by doing so they will atone for not carrying their own baby to term.
4. SELF-PUNISHMENT
Women are designed for motherhood. They come pre-equipped to gestate another human person inside their wombs.
For a woman to violate her womanly nature inevitably causes her anguish. Many women punish themselves in reparation for the sin of their abortion.
Post-abortive women may turn to drugs or to alcohol to numb out the pain. Some may physically harm themselves, not feeling worthy of positive feelings. A woman who has had an abortion may repeat the abortion cycle to punish herself for her first abortion.
5. RAGE
Some post-abortive mothers develop anger or rage toward others. Commonly, such strong passions are directed toward their husbands or boyfriends.
The anger can be directed toward her own children, as well. Some women have testified as much. Their feelings of inadequacy to be a mother caused them to abuse, or even to kill their living children. Some see it as self-punishment for procuring their abortion.
6. PROBLEMS FORMING SOCIALLY BONDS, ESPECIALLY WITH ONE’S OWN CHILDREN
Some post-abortive mothers report problems bonding with other people. This is especially true for their children.
The person to whom the post-abortive mother was especially responsible for protecting was her own baby. By putting her baby to death, her maternal instincts and judgments can take a damaging blow.
Subsequent or already-born children may suffer as a result. Their post-abortive mother may not be very affectionate. She may not want to assist her crying baby. The examples abound.
As well, romantic relationships with men, following an abortion, may be more difficult for women. Intimacy may lead to pregnancy, which may lead to a repeat of the trauma of another abortion. How she treats all men, as a result of being left by the one who got her pregnant, may be affected.
7. ANGER TOWARD THE ABORTIONIST AND STAFF
“Why didn’t anyone warn me?”
“If only they told me, I wouldn’t have done it.”
Such feelings are not uncommon for women who have had an abortion. They may feel like they were misled by “her doctor” and the staff who did the abortion. She may feel she was not given the full account of what to expect.
Given all these terrible, possible side effects to abortion, she probably was not forewarned. When you’re in the business of killing children for a living, stopping to ensure your clients are completely-informed is not a priority on your ‘to do’ list.
(A special thanks to Dr. David Reardon for compiling research to support this list of side effects of abortion in his book, Aborted Women: Silent No More).
