“So the faithful servant, conscience, always remains with the sinner in the midst of his disorders to show him what he has lost and the state to which his sins have reduced him.”[click to continue...]
Hitzel describes why he did so in the film. He describes the thought of becoming infected with HIV as a “gift.” He says it seemed like the biggest prize, wrapped with the biggest bow.
Only, in the end, he realizes how empty the promise was. He concludes the documentary saying, “I just can’t believe that it seemed like a livable thing to me—there was no benefit in this (bug chasing)—and that’s just what really needs to be said.”[click to continue...]
Did you know the Bible foretold of a society that had “ungodly men” make “a covenant with death?”
You can read it in the Book of Wisdom, a book written about 1,000 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. I will share the passage with you below.
The right-to-life movement would be essentially erased, if pro-life advocates adopt Renkl’s short-sighted supposed solution.
Let’s begin by observing the most obvious error in her thinking. That is, by agreeing to not talk about the issues of abortion, contraception, so-called “gay marriage,” L.G.B.T. issues, and so forth, we would thus guarantee their further decaying of our culture. Only by shining a light into the darkness of sinful behavior does such behavior ever end. “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them,” the Bible instructs (Eph 5:11).[click to continue...]
They have begun to make known their “preferred pronoun” they each wish to be called. Instead of he or she, ze and xe or some other made-up pronoun could be the way they wish to be called.
How did we get here? How did we get to the point where the political elites can claim there are more than two genders? Your grandparents would have never imagined this 40 years ago.[click to continue...]
Christians who support a Biblical world view have a hard time wrapping their minds around this supposed redefinition of marriage.
After all, didn’t God create mankind “male and female”? (Gen 5:2).
Didn’t Christ Himself affirm that human beings were created “male and female”? (Matt 19:4, Mark 10:6).
So how then did our culture get so screwed up that a man and a man or a woman and a woman could be legally ‘married?’[click to continue...]
In my experience I do not find the defiance against the Church to be on an intellectual level as much as it is a matter of the heart.
Far more people reject Catholic moral teachings because they simply do not want them to be true than because they think the teachings are untrue.
Catholic author GK Chesterton famously observed, “The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult; and left untried.”[click to continue...]
Jesus Christ, of all people, connected the end of the world to a cataclysmic event of centuries past. He said His Second coming at the end of the world in judgment would be at a time much like the time of the Flood.
“As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man.
For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark,
and they did not know until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of man,” Jesus proclaimed (Matthew 24:37).
For, in this backwards world, marriage exists solely for the emotional benefit of the adults involved. Children are an afterthought—an accessory, like a speed boat or a pet, at best. They are not essentially, necessary, or even a consideration in this remade world.
If there is no such thing as a ‘husband’ or a ‘wife,’ then there is no longer a ‘father’ or a ‘mother’ either. The entire domestic family, therefore, crumbles away.[click to continue...]
The Church’s dogmatic teachings on marriage consist of eternal truths. The Church’s teaching on the sanctity of marriage comes from God Himself. The Church could never and would never change such a fundamental belief.
That is because the Church has absolutely no authority to redefine marriage.[click to continue...]
