The Left likes to portray themselves as the caring type. Yet, you won’t find too atheists running an unplanned pregnancy clinic. Funny how that works, isn’t it?
We Christians are portrayed as judgmental. We are supposedly low on empathy and quick to condemn. Yet, all those stereotypes get chucked out the window in the event of an unplanned pregnancy.
What follows are three reasons any local unplanned pregnancy clinic in your area is not being run by atheists. Now, I realize there are exceptions to most every rule, so realize I am speaking here on out in generalities. Okay, time to get started.
1. THE LEFT HAS JUST ONE SUPPOSED “SOLUTION” TO UNPLANNED PREGNANCY: ABORTION
In all the reading, research, conversations, and general involvement I have had in the pro-life movement for the last 10+ years, I have heard over and over this one. The Left’s answer to a woman facing a pregnancy she did not plan remains to kill the unborn child. Period. End of story.
How does that “solve” anything?
The fact is an abortion won’t solve a single thing for mothers facing unplanned pregnancies. Whatever circumstances in her life led her to contemplate an abortion in the first place are never relieved if she follows through with the abortion.
A financially-strapped, pregnant mother will only become a financially-strapped mother of a dead baby, after an abortion. The examples can be multiplied from there. To the Left, offering an abortion is there supposed “cure all.” But instead it only exacerbates the problems such mothers face, instead of leading them out of their dilemmas.
When atheists and the Left can suggest only death to the unborn as a solution, is it any wonder they do not offer any other substantial assistance? They are not going to open an unplanned pregnancy clinic, because they don’t understand how that can offer any “real” assistance. Small wonder.
2. TO AID MOTHERS IN CRISIS PREGNANCIES TO ACTUALLY KEEP THEIR BABIES WOULD SHAKE THEIR CONSCIENCE
The Left does what it can to ease its collective conscience. It pours itself into environmental preservation and animal “rights” to counteract its support for death to the most vulnerable humans alive: the unborn. ((PRIOR POST))
The Left is unlikely to open an unplanned pregnancy clinic for the same reason abortion clinic workers rarely make follow up phone calls to post-abortive mothers. They don’t want to be reminded it is entirely possible that abortion is not the “solution” they think it is. Go figure.
If liberals were to admit that women facing crisis pregnancies were able to be assisted to keep their babies, it would fly in the face of their collective lie. They have deceived themselves for so long into thinking abortion is true health care. To find women who didn’t fall into that trap and to learn of their success in overcoming their dire circumstances would mean that perhaps others—or even all—mothers facing similar situations could be aided.
When they view abortion as a sacrament, they just can’t let themselves go there.
3. IN THE END, CHARITY TRIUMPHS
What is love? Love will always be willing the best for the other person. And so, what is the most loving thing to do for a mother facing a crisis pregnancy?
Is it to shame her for allowing her contraceptives to fail? Is it to disown her? Is it to push her to have her unborn child murdered?
Or is it to offer her material assistance, financial aid, and spiritual direction? All of these are offered at most every unplanned pregnancy clinic. At such places these mothers are showered with charity, and are empowered to help themselves out of their circumstances that led them there.
Here such mothers are often given the following for free:
– Pregnancy care
– Referrals for good doctors
– Rent money if needed
– Sometimes courses on financial management
– Day care referrals
– Sometimes assistance in finding employment
– Recommendations for places to live for pregnant mothers in need
What are atheists’ likely to offer to counter such charity? A box of condoms? It’s not even close.
What might you add as #4 to the list?
