The Republican debates are creating quite a buzz among the pro-life crowd, especially Presidential hopeful Carly S Fiorina.
The Center for Medical Progress (CMP) has released exposé videos exposing Planned Parenthood in recent months. As a result, debate over abortion has remained in the forefront of the culture wars. This has spilled over into the campaign trail for the 2016 presidential nomination.
Many of the GOP candidates have made some strong pro-life statements over the course of the campaign trail. For example, (give three or four non-Carly examples)
AS FOR CARLY S FIORINA
More and more people are hopping aboard the Fiorina bandwagon.
The former Hewlett-Packard CEO was relegated to the undercard in the first GOP debate held in Cleveland on August 6th. This may have worked to her advantage, as she was more prominently displayed than she likely would have been on the main stage next to Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and the like. She shined in that debate and shot up in the polls. This earned her the right to be on the main stage for the second debate in Simi Valley September 16th.
Fiorina made a memorable challenge to fellow presidential-nominee-hopeful, Hillary Clinton as well as President Barack Hussein Obama in the second debate. She dared them to watch CMP’s videos which have exposed the abortion giant. She then goes on to describe one of the videos in particular.
The video she recalls has a woman testifying on camera as to a gruesome scene she was asked to participate in while working inside a Planned Parenthood facility. The woman says she watched a baby be aborted, then his heart was purposefully kept beating, while his brain was removed.
Here is Carly’s challenge in the debate, in case you missed it or want to see it again:
TEMPER YOUR EXCITEMENT, PLEASE
Obviously, it is wonderful to watch a candidate for the GOP nomination speak so passionately about the defense for human life. The GOP has seemingly never produced so many candidates simultaneously claiming to be so opposed to abortion.
But I thought I would just let the pro-life community know that Fiorina admits she does not think every unborn human being is worthy of protection. She has deemed those who are conceived by rape or incest to be expendable, sadly.
Here is the interview, where she admits as much. This was July 21, 2015 on CNN with Jake Tapper:
ARE THERE A FEW GOOD MEN?
I realize a perfect candidate to the presidency is next to impossible to find. I am also aware that this limited opposition to abortion has become a popular position to take for GOP party tickets.
I am thinking back to the vice presidential debate ahead of the 2012 election. Both nominees, Joe Biden and Paul Ryan are professed Catholics. The moderator asked them to state their position on abortion.
Biden gave the usual liberal rhetoric that he is “personally opposed” to abortion, but he wouldn’t do a thing to stop anyone else from having their unborn child dismembered in the womb. No surprise there. May God have mercy on him for the scandal he is causing.
But it is Ryan’s response that was especially disheartening. He too claimed he and Mitt Romney opposed all abortions, except in the case of rape or incest.
Is this what we have been reduced to in this country?
Not all children are worthy of the right to life? An innocent child can be given the death penalty for the sins of her father?
I know Fiorina is not the only GOP nominee hopeful holding her view. I will just pray that the eventual nominee has enough sense to know the difference between protecting and serving the public, versus allowing the public to be murdered.
