The number of teens having sex fell 10% in two years time, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
This governmental agency released a seemingly surprising report earlier this month in June 2016. Their “Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System” tracked statistics for the year 2015 here in the US. Among other lowered rates of risky behavior, the CDC reported the number of teens having sex has fallen 10%.
TEEN BIRTH RATES HAVE FALLEN
In addition, the CDC reported earlier this year a decrease in teen pregnancy birth rates across the country. How is this to be explained?
Of course, the liberals want to swoop in to take the credit. They want to claim the ease of contraception access is the primary aid in lowering the number of teens having sex, getting pregnant, and having babies.
Yet, this is explanation was just debunked.
SUSPECTED EXPLANATION DEBUNKED IN TWO WAYS
Given the ubiquitousness of birth control in our culture, one might be tempted to think the liberal mantra has just been proven true. After all, the Left argues that teens need not get pregnant. Thus, they need access to contraception to avoid pregnancy. This way they can continue in their promiscuity with the ‘threat’ of procreating a child.
Yet, as the CDC study reports, the number of teens having sex has fallen 10% in just two years. Thus, many teens are seeing the truth that abstinence is the best defense from unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and emotional baggage associated with promiscuous sex.
What’s more, earlier this month, Notre Dame researchers just released an earth-shaking study. They tracked the rate of pregnancies occurring following the distribution of condoms to teenagers—often being handed out by high school clinics.
Their ‘shocking’ discovery? They summarize their findings this way: “We find that access to condoms in schools increases teen fertility by about 10 percent” (emphasis my own).
Thus, liberals have to be beside themselves. This Notre Dame study blows away the Left’s nonsense that increased use of contraception leads to a decrease in teen pregnancies and births.
WELL, NO KIDDING
The number of teens having sex has fallen and the liberals have no good explanation.
And of those who keep having sex, they are far more likely to get pregnant using the contraceptive barrier method of using a condom.
This just flies in the face of the nonsense the liberals push on kids at school in their “comprehensive” sex ed programs.
To think, not every teenager out there remains devoid of self-control. Not every teenager out there disrespects God so as to disobey him by being promiscuous. Not every teen is impressed by the social wreckage of STDs, depression, teenage pregnancy, abortion, and so on that the Sexual Revolution has ushered in. Not every teenage boy and girl wants to partake in the lifestyle that their parents’ generation ruined their society to acquire.
The teens having sex using condoms or other contraceptives are being lied to. By being handed a condom by a school official, they are tacitly told they can engage in sexual activity with no consequences. These teens are then emboldened to increase the frequency of sexual activity because they think they are invincible.
Thus, it is no surprise that teen pregnancy rates increase among those who use condoms. It’s not rocket science. It’s just hard enough to understand that it befuddles the liberal mind.
YOUR TURN
So, what are your thoughts on the studies showing the decrease in the number of teens having sex, giving birth, but having more pregnancies when using condoms?
