But what about rape and incest?
This remains a highly contested concern in the ongoing abortion debate, for people on both sides of the issue.
Should pro-lifers be content to end over 98% of abortions, so long as rape and incest victims can still procure an abortion?
The answer is an emphatic “NO,” according to our interviewee today.
Welcome to another addition of the Pro-Life Warrior Spotlight, unique to ProLife365.com. You can check out previous Spotlight interviews HERE.
Today, I am pleased to bring you an interview with Kevin Williams, the producer of the documentary, “Conceived in Rape and Other Exceptions.”
You can watch the video for free at conceivedinrape.com, as well as from this page, by scrolling down. There is also a Youtube channel containing extended interviews, not fully featured in the film.
Rebecca Kiessling, herself conceived by rape, is featured in the film, alongside over 20 other must-see testimonies. You will meet rape victims, people who survived abortion attempts, and parents who gave their children life, when others said they should have aborted.
ProLife365.com (Kevin Kukla): Thank you for taking time out to speak with us today, Mr. Williams. I am excited to learn more about the film and how God is using you in the pro-life movement.
Kevin Williams: First of all, I can’t tell you how thankful I am to you for the honor of being interviewed by you. It is the first interview I’ve done since being at the lake on the camping trip where my friend, Keith Humphries [the one who conducted the interviews for the documentary] and his son filmed me.

#1) To what do you attribute your strong pro-life stance? How long have you been active in the pro-life movement? What kind of pro-life activities are you doing these days?
I was an alcoholic, drug addict, and self-serving hedonist for several decades. I left a trail of divorce, failed relationships, abortion—the whole nine yards.
I have committed myself to a life of celibacy and poverty for God’s Kingdom and for protecting the unborn.
The way I see it is that I served myself and the enemy of my soul with great fervor and zeal for many years. For me to serve God, the Lover and Savior of my soul with less fervor than him who had great malice for my soul would be a great insult to God. By His Grace that is not going to happen.
Your asking me about what fuels my passion for pro-life activism got me reflecting back on some events that took place several years before I ever even went to an abortion clinic. Looking back I can see it was God planting seeds and giving me a preview of what was to come.
I go there sometimes to pray at Warren Hern’s late-term abortion clinic in Boulder. Fort Collins is about 20 minutes away and is where I go and pray and sidewalk counsel. In almost 3 1/2 years I could probably count on one hand the abortion days I’ve missed other than when I was out of town working in the oil field.
#2) What is it particularly about “the rape and incest exception” on abortion that you have found morally problematic? Why is it not good enough to outlaw abortion entirely, except for rape and incest?
To surrender the ground that EVERY life is incalculably precious and sacred because we are created in the image and likeness of God is to lose the argument. Truth is the only thing we have to stand on and as Pam Stenzel (national abstinence speaker) says so powerfully, “Compromise hasn’t worked!”
Rape and incest comprise only about 1% of all abortions. Yet, the abortion industry has used it as their weapon to make abortion legal 100% of the time, for any reason.
Rape and incest exceptions have always been the Trojan Horse to get inside. Then the gates are opened wide. Like the proverbial camel getting his nose into the tent. The rest of him will soon follow.
Here is the film, in its entirety. It is about an hour long:
#3) What inspired you to produce this film?
For about a week before I left on my last road trip I would find myself again and again drawn to Judges 6 where Gideon was instructed to demolish the alter of Baal (the place of Child sacrifice) and take the ruins of it and use it to offer up a sacrifice to Jehovah.
I believe God is going to take many of the same mechanizations the devil used to make abortion legal as the very means of putting an end to it. Thus, glorifying God.
#4) What fruit has been produced from this film? What kind of feedback are you getting to it, even to this day?
Shortly after we posted the film online I had a pastor call me. He was weeping.
He said that he had always considered himself to be pro-life. But as he watched interview after interview, he realized that he had been a false teacher. He had been teaching people there should be exceptions in the case of rape and incest.
He said he had to stop the movie and go before the Lord and repent.
The pastor said he resumed watching the movie. Then he got to the interviews about fetal deformity and life of the mother. He again realized he had been a false teacher, because he had been teaching people that abortion should be legal in such cases.
He said he had to stop the movie again and go before the Lord and repeat the process of pleading for forgiveness.
In the course of conversing with him he said several times that it wasn’t so much logic or philosophical arguments that convicted his heart and brought him to alter his views so dramatically. He said over and over that it was the love that he saw demonstrated in these stories.
#5) You were telling me your plans to continue to distribute the film. Whom are you targeting?
Well I recently got back from a road trip. I covered almost 2000 miles, giving away stacks of the documentary to crisis pregnancy centers and putting them in the hands of pro-life activists all along the way. I went south through Denver to Albuquerque, New Mexico and back up through Grand Junction, Colorado.
I’m about to go again only West this time, to Oregon and Idaho, maybe into Northern California. I will be taking around 700 copies of the film this time to give out.
Thank you for your time, Mr. Williams. It was an honor to speak with you.
Thank you so much for doing this interview. It is an honor and also a great opportunity for the Lord to get this message out.
Also, I will continue to pray for your blog to encourage other pro-lifers to step out in faith with their inspirations. I believe your “Pro-Life Spotlight” is truly a God-inspired and worthy work and has much potential. Blessings upon you.
