100 Observations Made about Humanae Vitae and Its Papal Commission

August 1, 2018 By Kevin Kukla 1 Comment

In the end, Galvin’s thesis reads, “[Humanae Vitae] substantially altered the traditional teaching by wiping the slate clean of centuries of doctrine and then propos[ed] an entirely new way to view marriage and procreation.”

The Advantages of Being Married, According to St. Augustine

the advantages of being married

So, as we have just seen, in so many words, the great Doctor of the Church affirms the traditional, threefold ends of Matrimony are the begetting of offspring, the mutual help of the spouses, and the providing of a remedy against concupiscence.

Scripture affirms this last point as one of the advantages of being married, as well. In fact, we have it on the highest authority that one of the purposes of Holy Matrimony remains the curbing of sexual temptation.

What if You Want to Pack Heat at Church but Your Clergy Forbids You?

November 16, 2017 By Kevin Kukla 2 Comments

In light of the tragedy at Sutherland Springs Baptist Church last week, many churchgoers felt compelled to pack heat in self-defense. This is an understandable and very human response. After all, self-preservation and the desire to protect one’s family from unjust aggressors lie within our human nature. Everyone is entitled to feel this way.

Well, that is, unless you live in the Diocese of Dallas, Texas.

Those Who Play with Fire… Get Burned by Sexual Temptations

June 15, 2016 By Kevin Kukla 1 Comment

those who play with fire

“Do not look intently at a virgin, lest you stumble and incur penalties for her.
Do not give yourself to harlots lest you lose your inheritance.
Do not look around in the streets of a city, nor wander about in its deserted sections.
Turn away your eyes from a shapely woman, and do not look intently at beauty belonging to another; many have been misled by a woman’s beauty, and by it passion is kindled like a fire.” ~ Sirach 9:5-8

the definition of limbo

I admit it. I stand corrected on the definition of limbo.

This is me saying mea culpa.

I am eating a slice of humble pie.

I overstepped and misunderstood.

As so many tried to set me straight, I finally realized the error I made.

In my ignorance I got sloppy and failed to be precise in my language.

What Happened to Limbo?: Answering Common Objections to the Doctrine

March 31, 2016 By Kevin Kukla 15 Comments

what happened to limbo

However, He has given us no revelation that this is, in fact, what He does for babies who die without being baptized. In fact, the Holy Spirit has led the Catholic Church to just the opposite/ revelation. In the Second Council of Lyons and the Council of Florence, the Holy Spirit led the Church to assert dogmatically that such souls do go to limbo.

what happens to unbaptized babies when they die

Pope John XXIII:
“The Roman Church teaches… that souls of those who depart in mortal sin or with only original sin descend immediately to hell, nevertheless to be punished with different punishments and in disparate locations” (Nequaquam sine dolore [Letter to the Armenians], November 21, 1321) (Denzinger 493a).

Where Do the Souls of Aborted Babies Go? The Answer Will Likely Surprise You

March 28, 2016 By Kevin Kukla 97 Comments

where do the souls of aborted babies go

Yet, any aborted baby will not be baptized. Therefore, he or she does not receive forgiveness for original sin. Therefore, he or she is not worthy to go to Heaven, sadly.

That said, still any aborted baby—or really any unbaptized child before the age of reason—has not willfully sinned against God. Thus, this child does not deserve to roast in the flames of Gehenna.

So what is the answer? Where do the souls of aborted babies go?
